As I have been looking about 'motion' in nature, I started to think about it at a molecular level and thought about experimenting with chromatography. I remember doing some experiments at school and was fascinated by the separation of colours in pigments.
I used water soluble black markers on chromatography paper and water as the solvent. It took roughly an hour or so for the water to reach the top of the paper. I took a few photos during the process. I am not sure where I am going with this but I do think there is scope to experiment more with this and try different dyes etc. Maybe even film the process next time to see the movement...
